Light at the End of the Tunnel

Lately I've felt like this day is never going to come but TOMORROW Scott takes his Part 1 dental boards. Hallelujah! Scott has been studying non-stop, every hour of every day and I am so relieved that it's almost over. He is so nervous but I know he is going to do great. So any extra prayers tomorrow would be awesome! I am so excited to celebrate this being over.

We couldn't ask for a better way to celebrate than with these visitors coming!

My mom and Monty asked Matthew at the beginning of the summer if he could choose anywhere to go for a trip, where would he go? His response: "I want to go to Omaha and see Scott." Yes, just like you, I realize the absence of my name in this statement but I'm over it. He idolizes Scott and I've come to accept that! Either way I get to partake of this awesome dude and the awesome parents. We're going to head down to Kansas City for a few days and have a blast! Scott is just so excited to golf with his favorite golfing buddy, Monty, and I couldn't think of anyone who deserves that more than he does now. It's time for a fun weekend! Woohoo! Good luck tomorrow Scotty!

Close-Ups

I wish I could do a close up of everything I've gotten, especially all the darling outfits. You'll just have to wait till she's sporting them herself though!

Scott's mom is amazing and here are some of the things she's made us. How cute are these onesies?Okay and an extra close up of our favorite. Scott was in HEAVEN with this one:Is that awesome or what? A Snowbird onesie with a matching snow hat. We love it!

And I can't wait to stick these little booties on her tiny feet!

And lastly check out this amazing quilt my Aunt Karen made me. I am so in love with it. I can't get enough of it. I can't wait to wrap her up in this thing! It's more perfect than I could ever have imagined. Thanks a million times over Auntie!

Family Shower

I was able to have the funnest shower while in Utah. We just combined both sides of the family, Scott's fam, and just a few of my closest friends. It was so much fun! It worked out perfect because it allowed me to see so many of the wonderful women I wanted to see and spend time with while I was in Utah. All these gals are the cream of the crop I tell ya.We had the shower at my dad and Crystal's house. They were so nice to host and it was so beautiful. I had to snag one pic with him before he was booted out of the house for girl time. Crystal and Keri (my cute sis in law) planned and worked so hard on decorating and putting it all together.I got WONDERFUL gifts! I have to take some close ups of some of my favorite things. You are going to die at this amazing quilt my Aunt Karen made me and all this stuff that Scott's mom has been slaving away making. SO much fun! So those are to come. I lucked out with being able to see my best girlfriends. They were so darling and stayed late and we were able to talk and catch up. My best friend in the whole world, Abby, just happened to be in town that weekend at the last minute. What a treat!THE best mother in law in the whole entire world. I was lucky enough to spend a night out on the town with Scott's parents to the beloved Cafe Rio and Frogurt and then spend a night at their house. Sure love you guys!My darling Aunt Karen and cousin Abby drove all the way down from Logan. Cute Abby was overdue with her baby and such a trooper to come all the way down. We were just laughing that just one year ago exactly we were in awesome shape and riding across Iowa on our bikes! Wow times change fast! I was able to sneak in a delicious lunch at the Cheesecake Factory with them earlier that day. Abbs had her beautiful baby girl 2 days later! My darling mom who did pretty much all of the cooking for the shower. I'm just sick that I didn't get a picture of it all. The most beautiful, summer salads she slaved away on all day. Love you mama! (Don't mind our busy dresses together! Whoosh!)Crystal my darling step mom who was so much fun to spend time with on that trip. We had so much fun watching the Bachelorette, doing our fingers and toes, shopping, going on walks, etc. Love you Crissy. And last but not least, all the Cannon girls!
Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone! What a treat that was. And I still managed to get all that stuff home! Pretty impressive!

Utah Trip Part 1: Lake Powell

Well let's first just say that this big, awkward pregnant gal survived 3 days camping in Lake Powell at 32 weeks pregnant! No houseboat, toilet, or soft comfy bed. As ironic as it may sound, the trip was heaven. My dad surprised me with tickets to come out to Utah and visit. It was the funnest email I've gotten (probably ever)! Scott is so, so, so, so busy in school right now and studying for boards that it was the perfect time for me to take off for a week and a half and go spend some good summer lovin' with the fam. I was lucky enough to spend some of my time in Lake Powell. I have missed that place so much and realize that I probably won't be back for awhile with a new baby coming, so it was such a blessing to partake of the goodness one last time to tide me over for awhile. It was my mom, Monty, and my two little brothers. We had a blast.
We did a couple great hikes.

The water was AMAZING. I may or may not have tried to get up skiing and failed but I was a wonderful photographer if I may say so myself. The most exciting part of the trip was seeing my mom able to ski for the first time with her 2 new artificial knees. For the last 10 years I've watched her ski in so much pain and holy smokes she ripped it up! I haven't seen her ski like that for so long and the sweetest part of all is that she was pain free! She had the biggest smile on her face the whole time!Matthew got up at the end of last year but was a total stud and mastered it this trip. He's got it! Check out those new gorgeous teeth, braces off!!The boys survived some trecherous tubing:And we did some great belly comparing. I win.Not only are these boys so handsome, they are the funnest, kindest, best brothers ever. I think he'll thank me for this candid someday. Sorry ladies, he's only 12.More pics of the Utah trip to come!
