7 months

Just a couple of notes about little Jane. 7 months old!

Jane you had been wanting to sit up but were still quite tipsy and on the exact day you turned 7 months you sat up! You are a pro now and are so proud of yourself! It's funny how the past few months all you've wanted to do is stand, I couldn't get you to bend and now I can't get you to stand. I try to stand you up in the tub so I can soap your bottom and chubby legs and when I lift you out of the water, you stay in the perfect sitting position....legs straight out in front of you!

You are loving the tub. You've never been a talker in the tub, now you won't stop jabbing. Your new thing is hoarding your toys. You load up all your toys and coddle them in your arms and bend over them. If one floats away you bend over to get it and face plant in the water.

You sleep on your side now. Maybe you've done it for awhile, but I've never dared check on you much while you're sleeping in fear that I'd wake you up (you are STILL the lightest sleeper on the planet). But lately I've been checking the temperature in your room before I go to bed and you're on your side all cuddled up to your little blanket. I find myself just staring at you for minutes at a time. I can't get enough.

Your mouth is a faucet. It is constant drool. Where are those teeth???? You've been goofy lately. Not wanting to nap (you're giving me a definite run for my money my dear). You were such a napper, I'd feel guilty how much your were sleeping in your crib each day. Oh what I would give to have that back!!! I'm hoping it's just a phase. You're so tired you can hardly keep your eyes open but you fight it so bad. It's killin' me! You're not loving your baby food either, not at ALL. You were all over that stuff before but not the past week. I've given up for a few days. All you want is to play with your spoon.
You always cross your legs....in your bouncer seat, swing, and car seat.

At the Dr. last week for your "6 months appt." (but really 7 months) you were 19 pounds (92%) and 28.5 inches (99%) for height. You are tall and beautiful my dear. Not a surprise with a 5'8" mom and 6'5" dad. Most pants are short on you but if I go up in size they are too big in the waist! I have a feelin' we'll be dealing with that issue for quite some time.

Your hair is growing in on the sides finally. You had the goofiest patch right on top that you never lost and it's finally filling in all over! But it's super long on top, I swear I could braid it! It just gets clipped back every day though and it's perfect. Your eyes are still not brown. I'm shocked! They're turning kind of more green than blue....I wonder if they're turning gradually. Where you got the green/blue from I have no clue!

You are pretty much content with anything in your hands... a spoon, plastic hanger, any toy, wrapper, remote control, etc. As long as you can hold it and put it in your mouth. You LOVE dad's xbox controller. We put it in front of you and you start hyperventilating like a little puppy. But dad won't let you go all out on it because of the drool issue. Sorry chica.
But speaking of the hypervenilating thing, you are doing it all the time! You hold out your arms and open your mouth and breathe really fast like a little puppy panting. It is a kick for dad and I to watch. You're so funny.

Man you are fun. You are my buddy. I love you cute girl. Thanks for being such a champ. Happy 7 months!

2 to the 9

Today is Scotty's birthday. Last night when we crawled into bed I excitedly reminded him that it was is birthday tomorrow and he said, "It's a bad one." How come? "Because I'm almost 30." Don't worry babe, live it up for one more year! Plus, it's not like life is over when you're 30. It's only going to get better!

Man I sure lucked out to marry the guy I saw on campus everyday and thought, "It would be a dream come true if that stud ever gave me a chance." I couldn't ask for a more sincere, kind, hard working, forgiving, fun guy to spend my life with.

Thanks for putting up with me Scotty. I know I freak out sometimes over Jane, or a messy house, if you're not home for dinner on time, and when you leave whiskers in the sink. You only calm me down and have more and more patience with me everyday. Life would be so boring without you. As mad as I get in bed sometimes when you attack me with tickling each night, you know that deep down inside I love it. It's just that it's after 9PM and that's when I get grumpy. But you know that.

What an amazing, fun dad you are to sweet Jane. She's already got you wrapped tightly around her finger. It's good for you. I admire so much your love for dentistry (most days), golf, skiing, your young men, oreos and milk, and your passion for so many things. I also love that of all things, you asked for bratwurst, baked beans, and salad for your birthday dinner tonight and gave me specific instructions for the ice cream cake you want from Dairy Queen. You are the coolest.

Love you more than you know big guy. Happy birthday.

Gems

It comes in handy having your best friend as a photographer. Not only is she awesome, she shoots Jane when least expected. The other night Scott, Jane, and I were out on a walk and Chels grabbed the camera to shoot a few. Turns out they're total gems. Did I mention I love this girl?

(Yes, I know they're huge but I love it) Thanks Chels!
