New Scenery....and it's so wonderful!

We're off to Utah for 3 weeks! Jane and I arrived early and Scott went to Nauvoo with the youth in our ward and is headed out this way as I type! I forget how beautiful this place is and how fun it is to have family around. Today we went from Midway, over Gardsman's Pass into Brighton over to Silver Lake. I could spend the whole day up there just taking in the beauty. Oh how I miss the mountains.

....and it's been so nice to pawn off my "walking" duties to someone else!

A current day in the life of Jane (and us)

Here is a glimpse of our life right now! This is what we do ALL DAY LONG! Walk. Walk. Walk. Walk. Walk. Walk and WALK. I know most parents say they're in no hurry for their kids to start walking. But we are counting down the days.....mostly because our backs are counting down the days! She's getting closer!

And this is what happens every time I stop helping her........hence the "please do it yourself Jane!" Sorry but I have a life too! Such a fun stage, love this little gal and the huge perma smile that's on her face right now as she learns new things and realizes how smart she's getting :)

Some 1sts

Jane had a big day in her life this week!!!........her FIRST haircut! Her bangs have been in her eyes and I can tell it's been driving her crazy so we gave them a little trim! I wouldn't let Chels touch her mullet in the back yet though! She did so good! She also celebrated her first 4th of July! The fireworks scared her a little but she got more used to them as time went on. When she could see the lights and sparklings going on she was a little better about them. But the big loud pops and bangs she wasn't such a fan of (neither am I though).
We took Jane to the zoo on the 4th and had a great time!She also got to eat her first sucker that night (to distract from the fireworks). Who woulda thought......she LOVED it.We're loving the swing out front of our house (especially because it's in the shade and we've been trying to stay cool. It is SO hot here! Jane loves it outside though so we're bearing through it! Love this girl.

Summer Lovin

A few things we are loving this summer!

Jane is obsessed with being pushed around in this little, red car right now. I say, "Do you wanna go ride in your car?" and she flaps her arms and hyperventilates!Nice cool baths at night after these long, smuggy and humid days!A few more things we are loving:

-dad's awesome summer schedule (home at noon tuesday-friday) and NO classes and stress which equals no need to study!

-the new Red Mango (self serve) down the street.

-Our zoo pass

-Grilling out on the patio pretty much every night

-Our air conditioning

-Jane is currently loving: ritz crackers, cheese, blueberries, bread, pickles, yogurt with berries, her sippy cup, pigtails, the swings, airplanes up in the sky, pointing at everything, spitting, Dora the Explorer, peek-a-boo, books, playing out by the swingset with toys and throwing gravel, any kids that come around, and walking. (not alone yet) but it's all she wants to do is walk, walk, walk as we hold her hands. I think we're gonna be skipping the whole crawling stage...I have a feeling this walking thing is comin' soon (if my back doesn't go out first)!
