And we're off!
Wow, it has been a wild week. Scott left last Sunday for Omaha and boy howdy do I miss him! We aren't able to move into our new place until June 1st and Scott started school May 26th so I have had to stay back for an extra week. It has been tough without him. He was so great these past few weeks and packed up almost our whole apartment before he left. This week was a lot of cleaning and D.I. ing clothes, etc. I couldn't have done everything without my great family, everyone has pitched in so much with the help of packing, cleaning, moving, etc. Our Penske truck is all loaded up and we are ready to go! The 16 footer was the perfect fit! We couldn't have had it be a foot smaller, it is packed perfectly! My dad fit it all like a perfect puzzle. Today has been a wonderful day spending time with family and saying goodbye. I am going to miss it here. I am sad to leave but SO excited to get out there and be with my husband and start our journey together. We are now starting part 2.

A sewing party!
On Wednesday I had a very special opportunity. My aunt Karen (a.k.a Aunti K) is a wonderful and very talented quilter. For years I have wanted to have her come and teach me some of her talent. So on Wednesday her, my mom, and I met up at my mom's house and had a wonderful day full of sewing and a delicious lunch! The best part was being with Aunti K and my mom all day, they are such darling sisters and it's so fun to see all their similarities. More than anything, they are so wise and gave me lots of good advice for moving away.

And our finished products!!!!
Thanks Aunti K for taking the time and for a wonderful day! Sure love you!
So we made "minkies" (very, very soft blankets) and they are so darling. I couldn't decide on my fabric because they were all so darling! I learned a lot and am going to start saving for my own sewing machine. Within 10 minutes I was addicted!

Thanks Aunti K for taking the time and for a wonderful day! Sure love you!

This blog is all pics. Just a few more from graduation and also from Mother's Day last week up in Midway. I'm sorry I didn't do the traditional Mother's Day post that everyone does with all their moms, but just know mom, Muffy, and Crystal how dearly I love you ladies. Don't know what I'd do without ya. I'm striving to be just like you all.
Sure love my dad.
And my darling step dad Monty.

Woohoo
On Friday I walked for graduation. I wasn't going to do it, there are many other things I thought I'd rather be doing, but many people talked me into it and I am very glad I did. It brought closure to actually being done with school! I didn't decide to walk until just a couple of days before Friday and so I didn't have a cap & gown, tassle, or any info on graduation (I had been deleting all the emails!). But we pulled it together! I saved Scott's cap and gown from last year and thanks to his wonderful mom, we made it work! We did some major hemming and sewing the night before and it turned out great, nobody would ever know the gown was size 6'4"-6'6"! Ah, the things we do to save money! It was such a fun day and we enjoyed a fabulous lunch afterwards with all the family at Sawadee, my very favorite Thai place!
More pics to come......

Can you tell we've been occupied with other things lately?

When I woke up this morning and it looked like this outside....
and Scott was gone studying all day....I knew it was a sign and I had no excuse. It was Spring Cleaning day! Not the funnest Saturday ever, but man it feels good!

It was tempting to just let this place go for 3 more weeks because we're gonna have to pack up and clean anyway, but I can't stand a messy house like this. It's amazing how much happier you are when your little place is spick and span!
