Baby Details
Pretty much the day after I got home from Utah for Christmas break I started feeling kinda sick. It hit me at about 3:00 for two days in a row (right when school got out) and I would just come home and crash on the couch. Then the next day I was just feeling so yucky. I was over at Ali's house using her dryer because ours had broken. I told her I just felt so crummy and sorry I was being so boring and that I didn't mean to be rude! She kept insisting, "Teddy, you're pregnant." I said, "No, no I'm pretty sure I've jut got the flu." When I was on my out with laundry basket in hand, she tossed a pregnancy test in there and said, "Just take it Teddy."
So I waited till Scotty got home that night and he rolled his eyes when I showed him and said, "You're not pregnant." We gave it a shot. Sure enough.....we could BARELY see 2 faded pink lines. We were silent and just hunched over that pee stick waiting, waiting, waiting! We couldn't stop laughing and saying, "Holy cow!" But no way. So we ran to the store down the street and grabbed another one. It was the longest couple hours because I didn't have to go pee for a bit but sure enough, this one had a + sign!
The first 3 months were awful. We'll just leave it at that. Poor Scott was just going, "Where is my wife?" I was drained and nauseous galore. The only thing that made me feel better was exercising (ironically) and playing the piano. There are just a few things I still can't eat because it brings back terrible memories: hot chocolate, hummus, diet Sunkist, white chocolate, peach herbal tea, and I think that's about it.
I feel AWESOME now! I truly feel like 100% back to myself, just with a growing belly. But I'm still able to exercise every day and I have plenty of energy. I still haven't told my students yet and it's becoming pretty obvious when I wear tighter shirts. I had my first student ask me last week, "Mrs. Teddy? You look like you're pregnant kind of." I'm just grateful that I actually am! Second graders can say the darnedest things! So it's gonna have to come out sooner or later.
I have a great doctor. I really, really like her a lot and all is looking well so far. Monday I went in for an appointment and she was just laughing because she couldn't get the heartbeat for more than like 5 seconds because the baby was moving around so much. I hope that's not a clue to what we have ahead of us. In our first ultrasound (because we didn't know how far along I was) the baby was moving around like crazy too!
April 16th we find out what we're having. So only about 2 more weeks! I cannot wait to find out. I am totally stumped though on what the results will be. I always pictured me having boys but now that it's coming down to the wire, I would be perfectly happy and thrilled with a little girl. Scott's just easy peasy, goin' with the flow, and so excited. He is going to be such a great dad.
So there ya have it! Holy smokes! I can't believe this is really happening, but we couldn't be happier.

Looking forward to...
This Friday night my dad is coming here and I can't wait. He is doing us a HUGE favor by driving back our red car with me (which is leased) and due back this next month. As much as I hate the drive from SLC to Omaha I am so excited to spend it with him. We had such a blast driving out here in the big Penske truck that I'm sure this time, cruising along in the Altima, will be fabulous. Because of this I get to spend a week in UT again. It's spring break for my school which means, I'm off to have some fun.
I get to spend my first 3 days HERE.

The beautiful Desert Pearl in Zions National Park to soak up some sunshine and spend some quality time with my sweet mom. Just the 2 of us. It really sounds like a dream come true. We did it last year and had such a blast. The only down fall is that last year our husband's were golfing together in Vegas and so we didn't have a worry in the world because we knew they were just fine golfing all day every day and eating In-n-Out for all 3 meals. This time....I'm leaving my poor husband all alone in Omaha for a week by himself. That makes me worry, are you going to survive without me sweetie?!
The count down is on.....6 more days till my dad gets here and it will all begin! Woohoo!!!
P.S. Don't worry, I'm already planning on the sunscreen this time. I sure learned my lesson last time. (Hitch face)
