The trek back...

Last week was such a blastin Utah. My dad finally got here late Friday night after he had the flight from you know where. He got super delayed in Denver for hours and then had to sit on the runway for another 2 hours so they could de-ice the plane. When they finally landed in Omaha they couldn't get the terminal thing out so they could get off the dang plane. They had to get towed to another one. Poor guy. We crashed and woke up the next morning and went out for the most delicious breakfast. Scott googled "best breakfast in Omaha" and boy did we find it! This place was amazing!! It was on that show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives on the Food Network. We pulled up and and this place looks like a dump from the outside. It had these nasty gold curtains and I was a little freaked out. We walked in and the first thing they asked was if we had a reservation. We all kind of looked at each other like, "Are you kidding?" but we were lucky to get smuggled in. The place was packed and it was delicious! I had amazing french toast covered in fresh berries with whipped cream. Sorry I just have to show the pictures cause it was amazing. They don't even do justice but you can get the idea:Scott had a cactus omlett with black beans and delicious home fried potatoes and a side of biscuits and gravy because he couldn't decide. The waitress insisted he get the cactus omlett and she'd still bring him out some biscuits and gravy to try. He said they were the best he's ever had. And the omlett was amazing!!! It was SO yummy. Who would've ever thought, cactus? And my dad's was amazing too. It was some Mexican dish with quite the kick to it but incredible! And we got the picture just to prove that Guy Fieri had been there too.My dad and I had a great drive back to Utah. We decided to just plow through the 14 hour drive all in one day and it really wasn't too bad. We had great company and had some great talks, great music, and did personality quizes on each other which was very interesting and fun. The saddest part of all was Scott and I having to say goodbye to our beloved car that we've been so lucky to have for the past year and a half.Goodbye little buddy. You've been a gem. Now it's back to one car and reality and we're hoping and praying our little Subaru will hold out through the rest of dental school. The drive was much quicker and much smoother in the Nissan than what we were in last time:But as long as the drive was, it is such a treat for me to spend that time with my dad. He is such a good man. And speaking of, it's his birthday on this wonderful and beautiful Easter Day. Happy Birthday paps. You are the greatest. What a great day to have a birthday! I asked him what he got for his birthday and he was so excited because he got a case for his ipod so now he can swim with music. He can't run anymore due to his knee surgery (which was the love of his life) so he's really gotten into swimming and biking. He did a 5 mile swim yesterday and just signed up for a 10 mile swim race in August. His goal is under 6 hours. Dad, you are the biggest stud.

(more to come on the Utah and Zions trip with my mom)
